Lee Roy Selmon's story combines the benefits of football scholarships and volunteering for the community. First of all Selmon was raised by Lucious Semon and his wife Jessie. They lived on the farm close to Eufala in Oklahoma as the youngest of the nine children they had. Two football. He was one of the three brothers that were players for Oklahoma. The three brothers were all All-Americans. Lucious Jr. Dewey, Lee Roy, and Lucious Jr. Dewey started the 1973 season. Lee Roy won the Outland and Lombardi Awards as the nation's most effective lineman. He was awarded two championships as well as 31-1-1 during his three years as the Oklahoma's starting linebacker. Selmon was an National Football Foundation Scholarship-Athlete, Selmon was awarded an award for his third season in the year 1975. Selmon received a diploma in education. Lee Roy spent ten hours a week on volunteer work during his college years. After college he settled in Tampa playing nine years for the Buccaneers was all-pro three times and started his business career. The first position he held was an Account Relation Officer at First Florida Bank, Tampa. In the past, he worked on the Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. This is why Lee Roy was honored when the Junior Chamber of Commerce designated Lee Roy as one of the most prominent young people in America. Lee Roy weighed 256 lbs and stood at a height of 6'2 inches. In his time at for college, he was the head coach of the team of 1975. In 1993, he joined the university of south Fla's athletic department as its assistant director. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame since 1988. In 1989, the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation presented their Distinguished American Award, to Mr. Lucious Selmon and his wife. Henry Bellmon the Governor of Oklahoma made the presentation.
