Rosie Perez

KimRosie Perez was born Rosa Maria Perez on September 6, 1964. She is an American actress. Her biggest breakthrough came from Tina's role in Do the Right Thing (1989), and then White Men Can't Hop (1992). Perez was nominated for the Academy Award as Best Supporting Actress for her role in Fearless (1993). Perez's main roles in films include It Could Happen to You (1994) and The Road to El Dorado(2000), Pineapple Express (2007) and Birds of Prey (2018). Perez also earned three Primetime Emmy Award nominations (in 1990-1994), and another Emmy nomination (2020-present) for her performance as The Flight Attendant. She has appeared in stage plays on Broadway including The Ritz, Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune, and Fish in the Dark. She also co-hosted The View's 18th season on ABC's talk show The View. She was a student at Grover Cleveland High School, in the Ridgewood neighborhood of Queens. In 1999, her mother was in poverty in Woodside Houses when she died from AIDS-related complications.
